Breaking conventional trends, we rediscover the true essence of childhood art.
With Children's Day just behind us, it's hard to believe that TUTUMOMO has been with everyone for six years! Hello, I'm LINDA, the founder of TUTUMOMO. Today, I want to share our story with young designers. In summer 2023, TUTUMOMO collaborated with Duo Duo Bear International Art Education to host a 'Speed' competition for young designers. This event introduced new young designers, and the winning piece, 'Chasing the Wind,' was chosen as our new art bedding, set to launch in early 2024!
TUTUMOMO, a brand dedicated to children's original design concepts and advocating the return of design rights to kids, has always upheld excellent ideas behind artworks as our core values. All our product patterns are derived from children's inner artistic worlds. However, the current mainstream market for bed sets mainly features floral prints, solid colours, or various cartoon IP licenses. For TUTUMOMO, we aim to base our designs on the most primal driving force within children's minds, giving the bed set a new interpretation...
Finding differentiation in relatively common yet well-established themes can still be challenging because people's habitual aesthetics have already accepted the current models.
In 2021, we met Duoduo Bear International Art Education Group, who shared the same vision. Because of the same dream and goal, TUTUMOMO and Duoduo Bear hit it off immediately. Since its inception, Duoduo Bear has been committed to not cultivating mere artisans but only ARTCEOs. TUTUMOMO perfectly matched this dream realization platform. Thus, after much preparation, the 'Speed' Little Designer Competition was launched in the summer of 2023.
Before the event, we specifically communicated with the Duoduo Bear development team about TUTUMOMO's core appeal: collecting original works that embody the spirit of adventure and courage in children's hearts. They took this very seriously and guided the children through their creations using teaching methods. We then received outstanding works from children across the country. The results were delightful; each child's work was exciting and full of personality. Some drawings conveyed a burning inner fire and the courage to explore the world through their brushstrokes, colours, and composition. This is truly amazing!
When it came time to evaluate the final artworks, one piece deeply captivated me—The Son of the Wind, created by a ten-year-old named Su Yuanyuan. Her interpretation of 'Speed' was spot on; various aircraft and fighter jets undoubtedly epitomize speed and excitement, especially the red fighter jet, which exudes an air of dominance. It has the coolness of Tom Cruise's character in Top Gun, the courage of Pazu's homemade small plane from Laputa: Castle in the Sky searching for the sky city, and the passion of Porco Rosso, the ace pilot from The Red Pig, who flies to fulfill his dreams. It's really amazing! Every child should have the dream of soaring through the clouds! The courage to conquer the skies and the spirit of adventure towards the unknown in this artwork deeply moved me. I believe this resonates with all children around Su Yuanyuan's age.
After months of effort, the R&D team and marketing team have jointly determined that Su Yuan Yuan will become a contracted junior designer for TUTUMOMO, with 'The Wind Chaser' being designated as the contracted work for this competition. Currently, the 'The Wind Chaser' bedding set is available across all TUTUMOMO channels, including Tmall flagship store, Xiaohongshu , Youzan Mall, and offline flagship stores. The spirit of exploring dreams is invaluable; we hope this collection can inspire more children to have the courage to chase their sky-high dreams!
Thank you again to Duoduo Bear International Art Education and to Su Yuanyuan for their efforts! Exploring new dreams, we will move forward together into the future!
